(DANVILLE, Calif.) – As the summer fades and the leaves begin to turn, Danville is preparing for a month filled with community events and fall festivities. From charity events to spooky celebrations, October 2026 brings an exciting lineup of events to the Tri-Valley area. Whether you are looking for a new way to connect with your community, enjoy the arts and theater, or celebrate Halloween, this chronological roundup highlights the spooky and not-so-spooky events happening around Danville this month.
On October 11, the Danville community will kick off its yearly traditions with the 43rd Annual San Ramon Valley Foundation Run for Education. Families will gather for a variety of activities, including a 10K starting at Danville’s Charlotte Wood Middle School, a mini-run, and a new costume contest, all in support of local public schools.
Later that day, the Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk & Family Picnic will be hosted at Oak Hill Park. Families, friends, and supporters will gather for a morning walk, picnic, and inclusive activities celebrating individuals with Down syndrome.

The next civic engagement event takes place on October 14, as the Veterans Memorial Building hosts an event called “Volunteer Fair: Opportunities Around the Town” from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The volunteer fair invites residents aged 12 and older to learn about meaningful ways to serve and get involved right here in the local Tri-Valley area.
October 17 brings several events to Danville. Beginning at 10 a.m., Hap Magee Ranch Park will host Howl-O-Ween, a “festive event” designed for canine companions and their families. The event includes activities ranging from a pet parade to a costume contest, and awards in such categories as “best owner-and-dog duo.”
Also on October 17, the Village Theatre is hosting two performances by magician Brian Scott, who combines comedy and illusion in his act. Scott takes the stage at 11 a.m. According to event information, the show is “best suited for children in grades TK through 5th.”
Later that evening, at 5:30 p.m., the Art Gallery at the Village Theatre will host an opening reception for its new exhibition, Art in the Dark, inviting residents to experience unique, experimental pieces in an atmospheric setting. Art in the Dark runs through December 18.

As Halloween approaches, Oak Hill Park will host a Spooktacular Celebration on October 22, an event tailored to children ages 1–10. Here, young trick-or-treaters can enjoy safe Halloween activities like face painting, themed arts and crafts, trick-or-treating, and interactive games.
The following day, October 23, Danville residents 55 and older can head to Osage Station Park for the wellness event Walk-tober: A 5K Walk for Your Health. Walk-tober is designed to promote health and wellness while giving residents a chance to enjoy the crisp fall weather.
Simultaneously, October 23 marks the start of Flannel and Foliage: An Autumn Weekend in Danville. This three-day fall celebration will run through October 25. Inspired by the television series “Gilmore Girls,” Flannel and Foliage will celebrate the fall season in downtown Danville with live music, seasonal artisan markets, scavenger hunts, trivia sessions, “and exclusive photo ops with stars from your favorite quintessential 2000s TV show!”
According to an Instagram post from organizers Small Town Venture, celebrities will include Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson.
Downtown Danville activities continue on October 28 with Crawl-O-Ween, a spirited nighttime event presented by the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce. From 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., more than 20 local businesses and vendors will offer wine, beer, spirit tastings, savory bites, and live music. The event costs $55 if purchased before October 20 and $65 afterward, $20 more for a designated driver.

Finally, the spooky month wraps up on October 30 when the Village Theatre at 233 Front Street hosts Halloween Improv Night, an unscripted comedy night with a spooky theme.
With events ranging from community walks and crawls to art, comedy, magic, and more, October offers Danville residents many ways to support local causes and connect with neighbors.
