(SAN RAMON, Calif.) – In the early morning hours of August 30, thirteen restaurants were robbed in the San Ramon area. At that time, police had yet to identify two suspects, who around 4:00-5:00 a.m., stole several valuable pieces of equipment. At that time, there wasn't much information available.
To learn more, OpGov.News reached out to the San Ramon Police Department, who, on September 18, offered preliminary information regarding the crime in advance of a press release scheduled for next week.

Representing the department, Investigation Division Lieutenant Michael Pistello told OpGov.News that on September 16, police arrested 19-year-old Pleasanton resident Juan Luis Valdez-Luevano in connection with the robberies. Whether this individual is responsible for the crime is yet to be proven in a court of law.
While no other members of a robbery crew were mentioned, Lieutenant Pistello noted that, "Investigators have identified additional potential suspects, and...anticipate providing further information as the investigation progresses and those details can be confirmed and appropriately released.” He added that the “Investigations Division continues to actively and diligently pursue this case."

As confirmed by Lieutenant Pistello, the San Ramon Police Department will issue a press release next week with more information about the case, including about Valdez-Luevano and the status of other potential suspects in this crime.
Owners of businesses involved in the robberies, such as Indian restaurants Pakka Local and Amrutha Vilas, had no further comment.
