(PENSACOLA) --- There is nothing like making a list.
That is what Pensacola just did with LinkedIn.
According to the professional network social media site, Pensacola is on the “U.S. Fastest Growing Metros for New Jobs, Talent” list. Touted alongside other major U.S. cities, including Sacramento, Reno, and Austin, Pensacola ranks #7, proving it is not just the white sands welcoming new residents anymore.

LinkedIn reports that Pensacola is on the rise for its “longstanding defense, aerospace and aviation” industries, even citing reasons why we are so popular.
“Project Maeve, a $76 million ship manufacturing investment expected to create upwards of 2,000 jobs. Affordable real estate relative to other Florida markets and coastal amenities help to attract workers and retirees alike,” according to the list.

LinkedIn reports that top employers include Navy Federal, the U.S. Navy and the University of West Florida, making the area more attractive to young professionals seeking long-term careers in finance, military service and education.
Similar to listicles, Pensacola’s median income and average home cost are reported, coming in at $74,210 and $523,010. Pensacola is also popular for its work flexibility, reported at 4% remote and 6.5% hybrid.
The number seven ranking keeps Pensacola humble, coming in after the top LinkedIn's top five cities:
Augusta, Georgia
Richmond, Virginia
Reno, Nevada
North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota, Florida
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
Now that LinkedIn has pointed out Pensacola as one of the top U.S. metros, LinkedIn searches for jobs here are sure to rise, which is a win for the social media site and for this great Gulf Coast city!
