Empowering communities through transparent governance
(CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA) —Citrus Heights Police officers responded to an armed robbery on Saturday at 2:45 p.m., involving multiple victims at a business in the 6400 block of Sunrise Boulevard. A firearm was used, and two suspects fled the scene, according to their Facebook post.
What happened next shows the power of technology and teamwork: Within five minutes, CHPD Real Time Information Center (RTIC) Operator identified the suspect vehicle driving erratically through the city. RTIC provided continuous real-time intelligence to CHPD officers, Sacramento Sheriff’s Office deputies, and allied air units—keeping all units connected, informed, and strategically positioned as the incident crossed jurisdictional lines.
As the vehicle entered Sacramento County, Sheriff’s Office units were already staged. A felony stop was attempted, leading to a brief pursuit that ended when the suspect vehicle crashed into an embankment near Hillsdale Boulevard and Greenholme Dr., adjacent to an apartment complex. Both suspects fled on foot.
An SSO deputy quickly apprehended the driver, 26-year-old Clifton Kidd, who was also allegedly wanted on a no-bail felony post-release community supervision warrant and has prior convictions for being an armed felon.
The passenger remains outstanding and is allegedly wanted for armed robbery. Investigators actively worked on evidence recovered from the scene, along with digital, air-unit, and RTIC-supported intelligence developed during the incident.
