“I’m running for Governor because I know that our state’s most pressing issues can be solved if we understand each community’s concerns, with a state government that supports local solutions,” according to gregghull.com. “This campaign will focus on the future instead of dwelling on the past. I have a vision for our state that doesn’t make excuses for where we are, but looks for solutions that will take us to where we want to be.”
Hull’s website adds that he has taken on the big challenges to improve public safety, grow the economy, and invest in infrastructure.
Next up is Republican Duke Rodriguez, who has a website outlining his goals and objectives.

Rodriguez wants to bring doctors back, raise teacher pay, combat crime, and protect state workers.
Improving healthcare is also important for the native of Silver City, New Mexico.
“Today, I look at our broken healthcare system and see so many things to fix,” Rodriguez's website states. “I want to get to work with ideas for recruiting doctors and protecting them, and our amazing nurses and technicians. I’ve got bold ideas, like Guaranteed Healthcare for New Mexicans that won’t raise taxes but will reduce waste and consolidate systems. Every New Mexican agrees we need new ideas in healthcare, and I have them.”
Small business owner, father of three, and Republican Doug Turner comes in as candidate no. 3.

Turner believes New Mexico’s best days are ahead, according to turnerfornm.com.
“But to realize that future, we must stop treating our biggest challenges in isolation,” Turner’s website states. “Opportunity, education, and public safety are deeply connected, and for too long, our leadership has failed to understand and act on those connections.”
The first Democrat running is Sam Bregman.

Bregman currently works with the Bernalillo County District Attorney.
And the final candidate is Debra Haaland, who was the U.S. Secretary of the Interior and assumed office on March 16, 2021, before leaving in 2025.
Haaland has a bachelor’s degree in English and a law degree from the University of New Mexico Law School.

“She understands that crime, homelessness, addiction, and high prices are putting success out of reach for many families in our state, and Deb is determined to face those challenges head-on,” according to debhaaland.com.
“She is a fierce leader who stood up against attacks on our rights and the millionaires and billionaires rigging the system against hard-working New Mexicans. When she’s Governor, Deb will protect our communities from Donald Trump and ICE so that we can focus on our biggest challenges – reducing crime, bettering education, and bringing down prices on everything from healthcare to weekly groceries.”
Whoever wins will follow behind current Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham.
Grisham is the 32nd Governor of the state and has served since Jan. 1, 2019. She was the first Democratic Latina elected Governor in U.S. history and began her second term in 2023.
Primary elections are set for June 2, while the general election is November 3.
