VANCOUVER β Itβs officially over, Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle defeated challenger Justin M. Forsman in the local race for the head seat on the dais.
OpGov.ai reported on all candidates before the final vote. Now that the numbers are in with Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle at 18,445 votes, and Justin M. Forsman at 7,779 votes.
In addition to the mayoral race, there were also three city council positions up for election tonight.
Kim Harless, who said she wants every policy to be fair, every process transparent, and every neighborhood to be heard defeated Pooneh Gray for Council, Position 1.
Harless came in at 15,540 votes and Gray at 10,382.
Erik Paulsen, who believes the city should assist with strategies to provide housing at all income levels and supports investing in infrastructure to make Vancouver safer for cyclists and pedestrians, defeated Derek Thompson for Council, Position 2.
Paulsen came in at 21,276 votes and Thompson 3,831.
Diana Perez, who ran a progressive re-election campaign focused on combating homelessness, defeated Robert Elkin for Council, Position 3.
Perez came in at 19,132 votes and Elkin 6,220.
Vancouver Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle will continue her commitment to public safety, economic development, and affordable housing, as she showed through strong voting numbers that she was the top choice.
