Empowering communities through transparent governance
(SACRAMENTO) There are facts behind the role of a council member.
Facts, not opinions.
Things that must pertain to the person representing a region on the dais. That is what public debates are for. To see whether the respective candidate is really what they say. These sessions before visiting the ballot box are key to finding exactly who you put in office.
The 2024 Election debate, Oct 2, 2024, held at the Round Table in Bishop Ranch, revealed a lot about Councilman Robert Jweniat. His word choice shows how the then-candidate was going to handle residents' affairs. Rather than bring up what matters most--the people, Jweniat shared what matters most to him, literally calling the local government a "for-profit entity".
The only thing that should profit is the people.
With only 273 people watching, this debate is even more revealing. The Sacramento media has successfully kept all of us in a "coma" that everything is right about democracy in California.
But OpGov.ai is here to wake you up for said coma. Let's begin by watching the meeting summary below.

Apparently, nobody was listening to the debate, or residents don't care what the government does with their taxes which are approximately $5,800 per voter.
Here is a look at local administration since Jweniat entered.
San Ramon’s Deeply Disturbing State of Democracy, a Year-in-Review.
Along with ongoing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) coverage, OpGov.ai is taking the next step, seeking citizens willing to initiate a recall of officials who do not have their best interests at heart.
It's not just about San Ramon, the pattern of public outcry in hyperlocal government has become too disturbing to ignore.
So disturbing, OpGov.ai is relentless in its efforts to contact the leaders of local leaders, pointing out the blatant bias behind policy making here.

Additionally almost all media agencies have been copied on what is happening, and we have specifically dedicated an entire article here.

Needless to say, the mounting evidence on the lack of public trust and blatant illegal activity must be addressed.
Because if it's not, anyone who calls San Ramon home will not want to much longer. So let's keep it our home and come together to initiate a recall before it is too late.
If we don't, we are showing our children how to settle for less where they live.
Next Steps:
Let's not repeat history. The 2026 election planning is already underway, we must connect now to ensure no more races go unopposed.

You can enter your address and see how many races you are able to run.
When I ran for office, I saw the mayor of an 85 K-population city had no challenger. In fact, I had highlighted that this has also resulted in far lower voter engagement, and the Clubs that are supposed to groom leadership within the community are failing badly.
At Open Governance, we see a lack of hyperlocal media coverage due to the noise on social media, where shadow bans have only amplified challenges to the Free Press. As a community-inspired news outlet, OpGov.ai invites citizens to join a community Zoom call on Sunday evening, Jan.4, at 7 p.m. to discuss the steps already being taken to initiate a recall.
