The Moholla clinics were introduced in the National Capital Territory of India in 2015.
As per the report published by The Hindustan Times, a leading newspaper, more than 533 clinics were set up, and the Aam Aadmi Party also promised to set up more than a thousand clinics before 2020.
It was also recorded by the World Health Organisation in 2015 that more than 65% of the Indian population had been paying for the health services out of their own pocket. The Hindu reported in 2017 that only 17% of the people in the country had health insurance.
The idea behind the molar clinic initiative by Aadmi Party was to reduce the financial burden on people who have lower financial income and do not have access to good healthcare services.
However, after change in the political regime, there have been a lot of changes in the concept of the Moholla clinic in providing healthcare facilities.
The Moholla clinics created by the Aam Admi Party have now been shifted to Ayushmann Arogya Mandirs by the Bhartiya Janta Party-led government.

The Shift to Ayushman Arogya Mandir
The shift in transition by the BJP-led government led to the creation of the Nationwide framework for systematic creation for organising the urban netwroking for creating the systematic healthcare model.
The transition of the Moholla Clinic Model led to the closure of 250 Moholla Clinics and the creation of a properly functioning model for reducing additional costs and improving working efficiency.
What Changes for the Patients?
The structural revamps to modify the integrated and systematic framework for healthcare accessibility and to reduce the healthcare burden on individuals, creating better medical centres for the administration of medical services.
The entire funding for the Ayushman Arogya Mandirs is provided by the Centre for the following reasons:
To improve administration and provide comprehensive Wellness and preventive care,
Enabling access to basic medical services such as maternity care, immunisation, and
To ensure everyday healthcare and streamline medical services.
Efficiency vs. Accessibility
The efficiency and accessibility of the Healthcare models have been revamped recently; however, the BJP-led government has significantly reduced the number of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, which has led to substantial financial losses for individuals.
The holistic healthcare system needs to be better framed for systematic functioning and and well managed digital clinic platform for easy accessibility.
The rapid reduction of cabin clinics has made the poor and underprivileged population suffer, due to the huge discrepancy in the government's run between the centre and state, specifically in the National Capital Territory of India.
