Empowering communities through transparent governance
(PENSACOLA) --- There is no reason to fear, according to Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons.

The reports I noted in the email and the original story two days ago have collectively garnered almost 5K hits, making Simmons answer not so relevant.
Sure, he is saying there is no reason to fear; he leads the strongest local law enforcement fleet. We don't.
Don't get me wrong, I met Simmons, and he seems like a nice enough man, but remember, his career is based on politics, meaning his answer is slanted no matter what he tells you or me. While he notes that he can't speak to ICE, he should reconsider, since, under the new rule, he will have to cooperate.
In the meantime, as noted in the other reports, residents vow to keep coming back to elected officials, demanding that FLOCK camera contracts be gone.
Now that all Florida sheriffs will cooperate with ICE, any camera seems suspicious, including FLOCK and red-light cameras. The report received a response on NextDoor, as seen below, with comments and reactions.

As I suspected, personal points of view would become charged, but we must go through the negative to find reason in it all.

I am keeping this report short and sweet, encouraging residents to consider what Sheriff Simmons said.
Till Thursday's council meeting, when FLOCK-feared residents again take their stand, maybe you reader, should start paying attention to cameras around town.
