(SACRAMENTO, CA.) — Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT) will continue critical station platform construction along the Blue Line throughout June 2026 as part of a systemwide modernization project to accommodate the agency’s new low-floor light rail vehicles.
According to SacRT, several stations will experience temporary closures and bus bridge service during construction. Riders are encouraged to plan for additional travel time and check SacRT service alerts before traveling.

June 12–14: Service Disruption Between Watt/I-80 and Swanston Stations
Station platform grinding work will take place at the Watt/I-80 West and Marconi/Arcade stations.
Station closures: Watt/I‑80, Watt/I‑80 West, Roseville Road, Marconi/Arcade.
Service disruption: Begins Friday, June 12, at the start of service and continues through Sunday, June 14, at the end of service.
Bus bridge service: Shuttle buses will operate between Swanston and Watt/I-80 stations throughout the closure. Shuttle bus service will not be available at Watt/I-80 West Station. Riders should use Roseville Road Station to access shuttle service.
Light rail service: Blue Line trains will operate between Swanston and Cosumnes River College stations.
June 17–20: Service Disruption Between 47th Avenue and Cosumnes River College Stations
Platform grinding and signal improvement work will take place between Florin and Cosumnes River College stations.
Station closures: Florin, Meadowview, Morrison Creek, Franklin, Center Parkway, and Cosumnes River College stations.
Service disruption: Begins Wednesday, June 17, at the start of service and continues through Saturday, June 20, at the end of service.
Bus bridge service: Shuttle buses will run every 20–30 minutes and are fully accessible with ramp deployment and priority seating. Due to surface street traffic, shuttle buses cannot match train schedule so riders are encouraged to allow extra travel time.
SacRT reminds riders that many platforms have been raised eight inches for future low-floor operations. Riders should watch their step and use designated crosswalks at the ends of platforms.
Shuttle buses will operate between 47th Avenue and Cosumnes River College stations throughout the closure. Shuttle bus service will not be available at Morrison Creek Station. Riders should use Florin Station to access shuttle service.

These upgrades are a key step toward introducing SacRT’s new fleet of low-floor light rail vehicles. The new trains will provide faster boarding, improved accessibility through level platform boarding, and a more convenient and comfortable experience for all riders.
