(GARY, MN.) – Discussions surrounding repairs to the Ninja Course at Gary Pines took place at the regular meeting of the Gary City Council on August 10. Rotted wood, exposed nails, and holes in some of the equipment require immediate attention.
The council agreed to inspect the area after the meeting to determine what needs to be done. Replacement of some areas of the course was discussed, but the city would prefer to keep the area natural. It hopes to add some new pieces that increase the course's durability and sustainability, as well as do an overall cleanup in the area.
The city also voted to replace the current playset at Gary City Park, and a gently used commercial-grade metal playground in excellent shape from Little Eagles Daycare was recommended for $1,200. A vote was placed to purchase it with the help of the Community Club, and council agreed to pay the uncovered portion of the cost.
