(GARY, MN) – A regular meeting of the Gary City Council was held July 6. Council members present were Bindy Thronson, Dennis Jacobson, Mayor Buck Engen, Carl Olson, Lynn Thordal, and Melissa Netland. Regular items included bill payment and accepting minutes from the last meeting.
Olson reported that mosquito spraying, water samples, and hydrant flushing were completed. An electrician checked an issue with one of the laundromat machines, and it turns out the electrical board is damaged, and will cost around $1,500 to replace.
The school auction was set for July 23-29. Gary Pines still needs more debris cleaned out, but the council noted that it would continue to be checked for downed trees and debris, and cleaned as necessary. Nuisance cars, snowmobiles, and ATVs were discussed. The council stated they will continue to send notifications to individuals with nuisance vehicles on their property, and then went on to discuss actions for homes with too many cats and dogs on the property.
Mayor Engen thanked everyone for their hard work during Gary Days stating, “I received many compliments on the nice parade.” The parades contained around 40 floats this year, and the Fire Department lunch had an excellent turnout.
