(LIVERMORE, CA.) – It’s a big year for the City of Livermore. This Fourth of July, the city isn’t just celebrating America’s 250th birthday, it’s also celebrating its own 150th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the city is bringing back its annual airport celebration this Saturday, July 4, from 9 AM to 1 PM at the Livermore Municipal Airport.
The free, family-friendly event promotes a big lineup of military aircraft, jets, helicopters, and first-responder vehicles parked on the tarmac for attendees to explore. The biggest addition this year is a new flight simulator, which lets visitors test out what it’s like to sit in the cockpit and pilot an aircraft firsthand.

Away from the tarmac, the event will feature live music and a dedicated kids zone full of fun activities. Young attendees can look forward to interactive science experiences hosted by the Quest Science Center, along with face painting, rubber duck races, and more.
An assortment of food options will be available for purchase, and the city of Livermore highlights some local favorites such as Marty’s Joint Food Truck, Fusion Food Club, CTK Empanadas, and On the Vine Catering. Since the event starts early in the morning, the breakfast options include Mrs. Miggins British Bakery, Butter & Batter Cookie Bar, and Grounded - Coffee & Local Delights.
With a large turnout expected, city officials have released important parking updates: “Event parking for the Fourth of July Celebration is available at Las Positas College in Lots C, D, and E, with free shuttle service to the event area provided by Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA). There will be no charge for parking or shuttle service. ADA/Handicap parking will be available at the Livermore Municipal Airport.”
