(PORTLAND) Nobody goes hungry on Thanksgiving here.
Many of Portland’s eateries are living up to the holiday spirit, sharing even if it cost them.
Beginning with Better Days Cafe, which might OpGov.ai add is an excellent name for a restaurant, locals can grab a Thanksgiving sandwich from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 3551 SE Division St. The eateries Instrgram reminds residents that holidays can be rough, precisely why their doors are open.

Union Gospel Mission (UGM) steps up next, able to serve up 450 meals on Thanksgiving Day beginning at 10 a.m. at 15 NW 3rd Ave. While not a restaurant, Union Gospel Mission will be providing meals for anyone experiencing homelessness, a labor of love they provide throughtout Southeast Portland.
“UGM began its Thanksgiving celebrations on November 13th at the overnight shelter it manages in SE Portland," according to a Flashnet report . "They are serving Thanksgiving meals all next week on their mobile Search + Rescue outreach in addition to the Thanksgiving Day meal at the downtown location."
Grindwittryz Annual GWT Free Meals is in effect as usual from noon to 4 p.m. at 4318 NE Cully Blvd. Over the past years, Grindwittryz has made it a tradition to give back to their community by serving a free Thanksgiving meal

“Each Thanksgiving, we come together to prepare food for those who may want a free hot meal. It may be a rough season for some, whether it’s due to financial situations, being unable to be with friends or family, or grief,” Grindwittryz's Instagram post said. "Whatever it may be, we are here to be your extended ‘ohana!”
After Ours will be serving a free plate of food for anyone in need this Thanksgiving Day from noon to 4 p.m. at 2226 NE Broadway.
“With all the craziness in the world, we try to help out where we can," according to the eatery, adding the chef has had this tradition of giving out meals on Thanksgiving, loving the energy it brings.
"Whether you’re experiencing food scarcity or don’t have anywhere to be on the holiday, we got y’all," After Hours said before asking, "Wouldn’t be called After Ours if we weren’t looking after our community, would we?”
Lastly, Thanksgiving Day is celebrated from noon to 4 p.m. at Poshines Café De La Soul at 8139 N. Denver Ave.
The restaurant has a longstanding tradition in Portland, celebrating 26 years of giving in 2025.
