Three Portland City Council members from districts 3 and 4 will be elected using multi-winner ranked choice voting.
Under the city's multi-winner ranked choice voting system, all the candidates are running in a single race, and a candidate only needs to secure 25% plus one vote to claim a seat.
District 3 councilors Angelita Morillo, Steve Novick, Tiffany Koyama Lane, and District 4 councilors Olivia Clark, Eric Zimmerman, and Mitch Green are in the lead just after 8 p.m. on election night.
