(DUBLIN, Calif.) – San Jose metal band Burden of Oath will perform at Gallagher’s Dublin Pub on October 24. The band will also perform at House of Thunder Harley-Davidson in Morgan Hill and the Florence Bar in Fremont on October 10, 2026.
Gallagher's Dublin Pub is an Irish-style pub that offers Irish-themed food and drink, including Guinness, shepherd's pie, and bangers and mash. They also offer entertainment such as karaoke and live music.
According to the band’s website, Burden of Oath formed in 2015 in San Jose. Its current lineup includes drummer and percussionist Shigeru Nishimura, bassist Dave Mota, guitarist Edward James, and singer Josh Berlin. James previously played in Purgatory and The Storm, while Berlin fronted the band Phoenix Ophelia.
The concert offers an opportunity to hear local music in a casual pub setting. The free admission also makes the performance accessible to residents who may want to discover new local music without committing to a ticket price.

One fan, Varun Nathamuni, told OpGov.News that he loves the band for their authenticity and resemblance to some of his personal favorites. According to Nathamuni, Burden of Oath “reminds me of listening to AC/DC and Black Sabbath,” especially their guitar riffs.
OpGov.News reached out to the band for an interview; however, the band had not responded by the time of publication.
For a change of pace, music lovers can attend the Dublin Bluegrass Jam. This open music event allows attendees to bring acoustic instruments and play alongside other participants. Held at the Old Murray Schoolhouse in Heritage Center Park, the jam will take place from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. on October 13 and 27. The group meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month.
OpGov.News spoke to Robert “Bob” Gisler, an event organizer, who said the event started 20 years ago as a "bluegrass and old-time jam" that has been going strong ever since.
Gisler also mentioned that the group performed at events and locations such as "the Dublin Harvest Festival, the San Ramon City Hootenanny, the Livermore VA Hospital, and the Dublin Senior Center."

To attend, guests must pay $4, while those who purchased the prepaid punch card can come for $3. The event is part of the California Bluegrass Association, a statewide organization that hosts and supports bluegrass events across California.
Anyone, regardless of skill level, is welcome. Gisler stated that "Bluegrass is very beginner-friendly, with many songs following a common I - IV - V (1-4-5) format. If you know G, C, and D on the guitar, you can play hundreds of songs."
These two events, along with other musical performances in nearby communities such as Livermore, offer a variety of musical options this October, ranging from bluegrass to metal and everything in between.
