(SAN RAMON, Calif.) – Meyhouse San Ramon brings classic New Orleans swing to the East Bay this Saturday, July 25, with “Meyhouse Jazz: A Night of Legends in New Orleans.”
The special event will take place at Meyhouse, located at 6000 Bollinger Canyon Road, with two performances scheduled for the evening. Guests may choose from seatings beginning at 5 P.M. and 8 P.M. Doors open at 5 P.M. for the 6:30 P.M. performance, while the second seating begins at 8 P.M. with the show starting at 8:30 P.M.
Admission covers the live performance only. Food and beverages will be available for purchase separately during the event.

The evening will be led by internationally acclaimed pianist Larry Vuckovich, who will guide audiences through a musical tribute celebrating the rich traditions of New Orleans jazz. The program honors legendary musicians who helped establish New Orleans as the birthplace of jazz, including Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, Earl "Fatha" Hines, and Barney Bigard.
According to event organizers, the performance explores the distinctive qualities that define New Orleans jazz.
"New Orleans jazz is known for its strong rhythmic phrasing, infectious energy, and powerful sense of swing. While many selections are played at medium and faster tempos, some of the most beautiful and challenging moments come in the slower tunes — even super slow tempos — where the groove must remain deep, expressive, and alive. In the hands of master musicians, these slow tempos create a dramatic rhythmic pulse and emotional intensity that bring the music fully to life."
Joining Vuckovich on stage is an accomplished ensemble of veteran jazz performers. Noel Jewkes will perform on soprano saxophone and clarinet, John Wiitala will anchor the rhythm on bass, and Leon Joyce will provide drums, creating a quartet that blends traditional New Orleans swing with contemporary jazz harmonies while preserving the warmth and character of the original classics.

Each performance will run approximately 75 minutes.
