(JACKSON, N.J.) --- Councilman calls out the mayor, using township resources to enhance chances of reelection.
During the August 11 meeting, Councilman Christopher Pollak noted that when the residents of Jackson Township received their estimated tax bills for the year, they also received a “piece of propaganda.”

Pollak went on to state that they received a letter from Interim Mayor Jennifer Kuhn that discussed her administration, what they have accomplished and “how great everything is.”
In October 2025, Kuhn was appointed to become the interim mayor following Mike Reina’s decision to step down after nearly 18 years in office. Her position is up for reelection this November.
Kuhn will be running against Elliott Shem-Tov, who is part of the “Fight for Jackson” campaign, which includes Pollak alongside Amanda Trombetta. The mayoral four-year term will begin on January 1, 2027 and continue through December 21, 2030.
Pollak explained that propaganda should not be a factor in an election and that the behavior should instead be brought into the township council meetings.

“It’s a misuse of the township,” Pollak said, “whether it’s a Facebook page, whether it’s this, it’s that; it’s just unnecessary.”
Pollak went on to explain that Kuhn can come to the township council meetings and “talk about how great you are right here.” He also noted that he believes candidates should communicate with people on their own platforms.
Pollak also mentioned that Kuhn paid someone with tax dollars to create a smear campaign against him the previous year.
Last year, Councilman Scott Sargent passed away following heart surgery, and during the November 2025 election cycle, Jackson residents were able to place their votes for who would fill the seat. Pollak won with 61.84%.
“So you’re going to use the township as much as you can to promote yourself for this election,” Pollak said, “It’s not right, it’s gotta stop.”
