(SAN FRANCISCO, CA.) – Nvidia-backed startup CodeRabbit raised $143 million in funding, leaning heavily on the demand for new tools to spot AI-generated software programming flaws.
The software delivers comprehensive feedback after providing a thorough code review using AI-powered analysis. It then provides a summary and ways to improve the code, making it easier to get code on the market faster.
This funding round was led by Atomico and Smash Capital, with further participation from BMW i Ventures and Datadog Inc. CodeRabbit has raised $200+ million to date, and now has an estimated value of $1.5 billion.
Chief executive officer of CodeRabbit Harjot Gill asserts there’s a massive need for software like this right now, making it easier to get in on initial funding, stating in part, “It’s almost like a land grab moment for us.”
It already has around 17,000 customers and conducts more than two million code reviews a week. CodeRabbit is also introducing several new features meant to identify security vulnerabilities in code and then suggest potential fixes.
The California-based company has its primary facilities in San Francisco, with an additional location in London. Some of the newly acquired funds will go toward doubling its number of employees in Europe. CodeRabbit has also set its sights on expanding into Japan and Singapore.
