(PLEASANTON, Calif., Nov. 6, 2026) — A Pleasanton hotel has become an unexpected focal point of the national immigration debate, bringing concerns about federal enforcement directly into the Tri-Valley.
Reports that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents were staying at the Residence Inn on Dublin Canyon Road prompted community members to organize demonstrations outside the property.

The concerns intensified after reports of immigration arrests in neighboring cities.
On Oct. 25, federal agents arrested a Guatemalan national near Santa Rita Jail in Dublin. Days later, on Nov. 5, the Alameda County Immigration Legal and Education Partnership (ACILEP) reported four additional arrests in Livermore, including three near Paseo Laguna Seco and one near a Grocery Outlet on Railroad Avenue.
The incidents have left residents asking a basic question: How much immigration enforcement is taking place in their communities, and who is being informed?
Local police agencies do not necessarily receive advance notice of federal immigration operations. Dublin Mayor Sherry Hu said Dublin police were not involved in the reported enforcement activity.
Meanwhile, community organizations have mobilized to monitor suspected ICE activity and provide assistance to affected families.
Federal officials have cited officer safety in declining to identify where agents are staying. Reports of agents using a hotel do not independently establish that enforcement operations are being conducted from that location.
For Pleasanton and its neighboring cities, the debate is no longer confined to Washington. It is unfolding in hotel parking lots, neighborhood streets and public gathering places.
Residents seeking immigration-related assistance can contact ACILEP at 510-241-4011.
