(DUBLIN, Calif.) – A business-casual bash on October 9 will celebrate the fifty-year anniversary of the charity organization Hively. Held at the Shannon Community Center, the event allows people from the community to have cocktails and dinner, before an engaging evening. All of this while helping Hively reach its goal of improving communities.
Opened in 1976 and providing child care, mental health, and community support to people in Alameda County, Hively maintains Family Resource Centers in Pleasanton and Oakland, with smaller locations in Livermore and Fremont. The organization's Senior Manager Charlie Onorati said the company strives to help children and families get the support they need.

Onorati also said that for the organization’s 50th anniversary, Hively hoped to “celebrate impact, build community,...plant the seeds to inspire our supporters, and get them excited for what we want to achieve in the next fifty years.”
General admission for the event is $150 and raffle tickets are $25, but General Admission is only one option. Guests can also spend $1,080 to buy a table for themselves and seven others, or $1,350 for a table for ten, but spots are limited.
Alternatively, Hively offers five different "Sponsorship Opportunities," each of which have distinct features allowing guests to contribute (and receive) even more. For $1000, the "Worker Bee" package is the base tier. This allows guests to become a sponsor, gives them four tickets to the event, and gets their name placed on event materials. The highest tier, the "Golden Bee," is $25,000 and offers an assortment of features including a "guided tour," and expanded public and digital recognition of the sponsors support of Hivley's goal.
According to Onorati, Hively hoped to raise at least $100,000 so they company can “cover budget gaps and enhance programs such as mental health, our family resource centers, and our mobile center, the Hive on Wheels.” The organization hopes the money they collect will support their future operations.
The anniversary celebration will kick off at 6:00 p.m., with a cocktail reception available until 7:00 p.m. The seated dinner will begin shortly thereafter. During the dinner, Hively will share a “legacy video, impact stories, and a keynote from CEO Mary Hekl.” After that, the auction will begin, and guests may bid on various items, including gift cards to restaurants in the Tri-Valley area, a stay at Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa, tickets to a Valkyries game, and much more.
The event will close with "Dueling Pianos," music-based entertainment described by Hively as "an interactive, high-energy performance" with "plenty of surprises." Dancing is allowed.
Discussing the people who will attend the event, Onorati hoped it will be the “community of supporters who’ve been a part of our five decades of impact,” as well as the “community members who want to be part of what Hively is building for the next 50 years.”
Anyone who buys a ticket is welcome.

When asked what he believed will come next for the 501(c)3 non-profit, Onorati said Hively hoped to “continue to grow our current programs and create new offerings to respond to community needs.”
