(MINNESOTA) - The General Elections of the Six Bands of Minnesota Chippewa Tribes took place June 9. Tribal Bands included Bois Forte, Fond du Lac, Grand Portage, Leech Lake, Mille Lacs, and White Earth Nation. Six incumbents of varying Bands failed to receive another term, showing many tribal members are ready for change in their communities. All newly elected officials will serve a four-year term, and will be sworn in sometime in July. Results for each Band are located in the table below.
