Raithel Steps Into Leadership Role
“I love this city, and it’s a privilege and an honor to serve as mayor,” Raithel said, in a city of Folsom news release, following the appointment. “I’m thankful for my colleagues on the City Council and the trust they’ve placed in me. I’m excited to continue working together to support the people and places that make Folsom such a special community.”
Raithel outlined priorities that include strengthening neighborhoods, improving technology and efficiencies, supporting economic development, and maintaining fiscal responsibility.
A longtime community advocate, Raithel brings experience as a small business owner and licensed professional engineer. His civic involvement includes service on the Folsom and Sacramento County Planning Commissions, the Historic District Commission, and the Library Commission. He also helped launch Folsom’s Community Service Day and created the Neighbors Helping Seniors program.
His leadership extends to volunteer work as past president of the Rotary Club of Folsom and recognition as Folsom’s 2020 Volunteer of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce. Raithel lives in the Briggs Ranch neighborhood with his fiancé and two stepchildren.
