Empowering communities through transparent governance
(KENNESAW, GA)-- Five independent candidates are running for various political positions in Georgia.
OpGov.ai wants to highlight independent candidates that may not get as much publicity. An independent candidate is an individual not affiliated with a political party.
Elbert Bartell, Chris Capparell, DeVelle Jackson, Natalie Richoz, and Rob Ruszkowski make up the class.
Al Bartell spent time in the U.S. Air Force from 1973 to 1980 and has worked as a political analyst. He described his goals for the state on his website.
“We are committed to leadership, integrity, and communication. We believe in public policy that uplifts and empowers citizen leadership,” According to the Bartell For U.S. Senate website. “Our leadership will ensure participation of the people, for the people, and by the people in the urban, suburban, and rural communities in the state of Georgia.”
Capparell is running for the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House to represent Georgia’s 6th congressional district. Capparell will also run for President of the United States in 2028.
Unlike the other candidates, Develle Jackson is running for positions in different states.
Jackson is running for election to the U.S. House to represent Minnesota's 5th Congressional District and for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Georgia. Jackson doesn’t have an official political website.
Natalie Richoz was born in Marietta and is running for election for the U.S. House to represent Georgia’s 11th Congressional District. According to BallotPedia, Richoz has worked as a registered nurse, construction assistant, food service assistant, and retail employee.
“Together, we can improve the course of our politics to a healthier, more fulfilling, and honest path, where truth governs, and hard work is rewarded on a more personal level,” According to the Richoz for Congress website.
Rob Ruszkowski is a native of Plainview, New York, and is running for election to the U.S. House to represent Georgia's 14th Congressional District. He has experience as an entrepreneur and outreach coordinator.
"I am running to represent Georgia’s 14th Congressional District, a seat left by Marjorie Taylor Greene,” According to the Rush Congress website. “I commend her for speaking truth to power and exposing the corruption that exists in both political parties—courage that is rare in Washington. With that same spirit, I intend to carry an even brighter torch: one that brings hope, restores integrity, and drives out the dark forces trying to strip the people of their power.”
OpGov.ai has been reporting on elections recently. This real-time reporter published a report earlier this month on candidates running for Georgia Attorney General.
