Empowering communities through transparent governance
(FOLSOM, CA) — Folsom is a city with strong foundations. Our neighborhoods are vibrant, our businesses are innovative, and our community takes pride in its quality of life. But like many cities, Folsom faces important financial and economic decisions that will shape our future. Ensuring fiscal sustainability and supporting economic development must be central to those decisions.
Over the past two years, I have spent significant time meeting with residents, business owners, and community leaders across Folsom. I have heard their concerns about rising costs, the need to support local businesses, and the importance of responsible planning. These conversations reinforced my belief that thoughtful financial stewardship and sustainable economic growth are essential for maintaining the services and quality of life our residents expect.
My perspective is shaped by more than 35 years of experience in entrepreneurship, engineering, technology, project management, and infrastructure leadership. In my professional career, I have managed large-scale systems and budgets where long-term planning, efficiency, and accountability were critical. Fiscal responsibility was not optional. It was necessary to ensure reliability and sustainability. Those same principles apply to city governance.

My public service experience has also given me insight into how cities support economic growth. As a former commissioner for the City of Davis’s Business and Economic Development Commission, I worked on issues related to strengthening local businesses and fostering economic opportunities. My service on the Sacramento County’s Vineyard Community Planning Advisory Council and Sheriff’s Outreach Community Advisory Boards helped me understand how planning, infrastructure, and public safety contribute to a stable and attractive environment for businesses and residents alike.
Economic development is not just about growth. It is about creating opportunity while maintaining balance. Folsom must continue to support small businesses, attract responsible investment, and create an environment where entrepreneurs and employers can thrive. At the same time, we must ensure that growth is aligned with infrastructure capacity, public safety, and fiscal responsibility.
Fiscal sustainability requires careful planning and disciplined decision-making. Cities must balance revenues and expenses, prioritize essential services, and plan for long-term infrastructure needs. Decisions made today affect not only current residents, but future generations.
Folsom has tremendous potential. We are well positioned to support innovation, encourage entrepreneurship, and maintain a strong local economy. Achieving this requires leadership that understands both the technical and financial aspects of infrastructure, planning, and economic development.

Leadership also requires listening. Residents, business owners, and community stakeholders bring valuable perspectives that help guide better decisions. Open dialogue and collaboration are essential to building trust and ensuring sound policy outcomes.
Folsom has given my family and me so much. Running for City Council is my way of contributing to the continued strength and sustainability of our city. I am committed to responsible financial stewardship, thoughtful planning, and supporting economic opportunities that benefit our entire community.
By focusing on fiscal responsibility and sustainable economic growth, we can help ensure that Folsom remains a thriving, resilient city for years to come.
