(SAN RAMON, DANVILLE, Calif.) -- Early returns released Tuesday night show incumbents leading in San Ramon's mayoral and District 4 council races. In Danville, Vice Mayor Robert Storer and former San Ramon police chief Denton Carlson are in position to win the town's two open council seats. These early counts reflect mail-in ballots received before Election Day. No precincts had reported when these numbers came out, so totals will change as more ballots are counted.
Danville Town Council (vote for 2)
Storer, who is running for re-election, leads with 9,049 votes (43.12%). Carlson is second with 8,293 (39.51%). Pratima Sonavne, a Danville mother and childcare business owner, has 3,645 (17.37%). The top two finishers win seats.
Councilmember Stepper is leaving the council at the end of the year, so at least one seat will go to a newcomer. Because each voter could pick two candidates, the 20,987 total counts votes, not voters.

San Ramon Mayor
Mayor Mark Armstrong, who is running for a second term, has a large early lead with 12,233 votes (77.00%). Paschalis Ntatsos has 2,233 (14.06%) and Emma Chigbu has 1,421 (8.94%). A total of 15,887 votes have been cast.

San Ramon City Council, District 4
This is the closest race of the three. Councilmember Marisol Rubio, first elected in 2022 and running for a second term, leads Jeffrey Joh 1,949 to 1,814 (51.79% to 48.21%). That's a 135-vote gap out of 3,763 votes cast, small enough to flip as later ballots come in.

What's next
Contra Costa County will keep counting vote-by-mail, drop-box and provisional ballots in the days after the election. Results become official only after the county certifies them. OpGov.News will update these races as new counts come out.
