(ALBUQUERQUE) – Mayor and City Council seats are on the ballot once again for New Mexico residents to decide who will represent them at the city government level.
Mayor Tim Keller wins the vote for Mayor for a third consecutive term with 71,014 votes or 58 percent of the vote, and Darren White obtains 51,871 votes or 42 percent of the vote.

Op.Gov.ai previously reported that Keller received 46,991 votes, 36% of the vote, and White received 40,783 votes, 31%, triggering a runoff election Tuesday night.
According to KOAT7 News, this is the first time that voters have decided to elect a Mayor to serve in office for three consecutive terms.
Darren White then formally conceded to incumbent Mayor Tim Keller.

The Albuquerque Journal is reporting that as of Wednesday, unofficial returns show current City Councilwoman Klarissa Peña has kept her seat.
Those unofficial results show that Peña has a 68 vote advantage over challenger Teresa Garcia, which translates to Peña earning 50.52 percent of the vote, compared to Garcia with 49.48 percent of the vote.
“I am not conceding at this point,” Garcia said Wednesday. “I’m just exploring my options right now. I just want to make sure that every vote is counted and my community’s voice is heard accurately.”
Challenger Garcia posted the following message to her supporters of her campaign:
“I'm running for City Council District 3 because I believe in amplifying your voice and realizing your vision for a better future in our community [...] Thank you District 3! We are headed to a run-off!
Garcia’s campaign objectives include a strong focus on infrastructure, economic development, immigration rights, and innovative progress.

Garcia has been endorsed by Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate, Young Democrats of New Mexico, and Sa Semilla Action, among others listed on Garcia’s campaign website.
