A Dublin resident for more than five years, Hor is running to bring a thoughtful, data-informed, and community-first approach to local governance. His campaign centers on responsible growth and balancing the budget to maintain the city’s strong quality of life for residents through initiatives including affordable housing, public safety, and transportation infrastructure.
“Dublin is a wonderful, welcoming community, but as our city grows, we must ensure that our city services and infrastructure keep pace,” said Hor. “I’m running to ensure everyday residents have a clear voice in our city government, and that we continue to keep Dublin the great place that has drawn so many of us here to raise our families, live our lives in peace, and celebrate our shared diversity.”
Hor’s candidate narrative is driven by a simple philosophy: be the change you want to see – a personal belief that has driven him to be an active participant and volunteer in his community. Hor currently serves as an officer on the Dublin Unified School District (DUSD) Citizens Bond Oversight Committee and on the Shamrock Hills School Parent Faculty Club. He has also contributed to other local initiatives, including serving in several committees for the school district and city.
An immigrant from Malaysia who has lived in the United States for 20 years, Hor spent seven years in journalism as a writer and copy editor before building a career spanning over a decade as a user experience researcher. His professional experience with listening to people, evaluating data and evidence, and designing user-centered solutions makes him well suited for analyzing complex city policies and advocating for practical,
pragmatic outcomes for Dublin as a community leader. Hor has a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and a Master’s in Psychology.
“I look forward to walking our neighborhoods, listening to my neighbors’ priorities, and earning their trust to represent District 2,” Hor added.
