(DUBLIN, Calif.) – On September 26, a murder occurred at the Dublin Sports Ground. Dublin Police Services identified the victim as Jonathan McKinsey, head of engineering for Games Player Experience at The New York Times. At around 3:00 p.m., McKinsey was found by a DSP Sergeant in the parking lot of the the sports ground with multiple gunshot wounds on his body.

Police said that with the help of witnesses, they located and arrested McKinsey’s elderly parents-in-law, Shouyong Zhang and Shili Chen, as suspects. According to authorities, Zhang and Chen, who are married and both 77 years of age, remained "nearby" after McKinsey's apparent murder. The two are currently being held in Santa Rita Jail as police continue their investigation.
To date, DPS have not issued a motive for the involvement of Zhang and Chen, nor have they named any other suspects.

OpGov.News reached out to Dublin Police Services to learn more about the incident. According to Captain Miguel Campos, the investigation is still pending. Due to this, authorities cannot release any new information at this time. However, Captain Campos also said that an arraignment will be held on Wednesday, September 30, at which point, more information will be released.
