Empowering communities through transparent governance
(Kingdom of San Ramon) --- NextDoor is an issue, according to Councilman Sridhar Verose.
Tuesday night, the councilman discussed citizens talking about open space on the social media channel, which has been very beneficial for getting hyperlocal news out.
Councilman Sridhar Verose's exact words.
"So one of the challenges that we always face is on Next Door, or any other social media, there is some misinformation or disinformation being shared right," Verose said before asking if the site is monitored.
Verose said it is a "challenge" to keep track of "this misinformation and disinformation um as it repeats four or five times without any response."
According to Verose, the Brown Act may apply to elected officials, preventing them from countering citizen comments or local news.
"I know this is a technology world where people are consuming so much information from social media, and whatever they put five times or six times will become truth, so do we have any plan for that?" Verose asked.
Verose could not let it go, saying he is worried that if "someone posts that hey this one is going bad now all our open spaces are going to be disrupted."
"We need to provide them the information that this is what happened," Verose said, noting officials can use a few lines to post, then direct residents to contact them through city staff.
Well, here is how the OpGov.ai team has reached out to the entire council to respond to the same Open Space law being illegally removed.
We covered in this article, Former San Ramon Mayor Greg Carr Confronts the Incumbent Chief and the City Council and not only that we reached out to each council and media outlet to be just ignored.

This clearly shows how concerned the council is, openly trying to filter the information to serve their own interests.
This is exactly what I had to step up and tell the council, while they acknowledged that they had seen the post, about community concerns on Open Space.
The entire council was silent here and passed the following text amendments, ignoring 25 community members who showed up and were hopelessly ignored.
Additionally, while they are concerned about the information being spread, they have all failed to respond to posts.
Other speakers, including former Mayor Greg Carr and Yohannes Tilahun, spoke about the city's extremely poor communication record.
