[Concord, CA] - Contra Costa County voters delivered a decisive verdict at the ballot box, rejecting proposals that would have increased taxes and fees on residents and businesses, according to certified election results released by county election officials.
Contra Costa County voters delivered a clear message in the June 2026 election: support for new taxes and public borrowing is no longer automatic.
Preliminary election results show that voters rejected most countywide and school-related funding measures on the ballot, while only two school district measures appeared headed toward approval. The results suggest increasing voter caution toward tax increases and bond proposals amid continued concerns about household costs, inflation, and government spending.
Approximately 55,200 ballots remain to be processed, including vote-by-mail ballots, provisional ballots, and ballots requiring review. The next update from county election officials is expected on June 10, 2026.
