The Councilmembers are Kelsea Bond, Thomas Worthy, and Wayne Martin. Bond serves District 2, Worthy serves District 7, and Martin serves District 11.
Bond, Worthy, and Martin began their roles earlier this month.
The new Councilmembers took part in training and onboarding, learning ethics and laws, and learned about the rules and regulations for the Atlanta City Council on Jan. 26.

“I am very excited to be here,” Worthy said. “A full grateful heart to be able to represent District 7.”
Worthy added that he has a lot to learn and is ready to get to work. Worthy serves on the boards of the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, Odyssey Family Counseling Center, and the Georgia Judicial Nominating Commission, according to the Atlanta City Council website.
Bond described the learning curve for her new role.

“It’s a lot of information, but this is what I signed up for,” Bond said.
Bond works as a community and labor organizer and believes her skills will translate to her new position.
“Being an organizer, you learn how to really listen and work with the community to get things done,” Bond said.
Bond has been an ardent community advocate fighting for the rights of Metro Atlanta workers and organized strike solidarity for several Atlanta unions, according to the Atlanta City Council website.
Bond wants to see a bottom-up approach to the City Council, while Worthy is excited to improve transportation issues.
Martin has experience serving Atlanta in his previous roles.

“I work for Atlanta public schools and the Atlanta Housing Authority,” Martin said. “Bring those perspectives into the work now as a council member, I think, is going to be very unique.”
Martin looks forward to connecting with the community. He attended Morehouse College and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science.
Bond, Worthy, and Martin are ready to serve and do their part to help the Atlanta City Council.
