(LIVERMORE, Calif.) — At Saint James Aesthetics & Wellness in downtown Livermore, founder Tyler James says he sometimes tells clients no. If a client who already has prominent lips asks for more volume, he says he may decline.
“So I'll even say no at times. So I'm not afraid to say no,” James said in a Sept. 24 interview with Tri-Valley Voice.

A registered nurse and licensed esthetician, James wants consultations to begin with questions rather than a predetermined treatment. He said he welcomes clients who are unsure whether a facial, filler, or another service might suit their goals.
“I actually like when people come here, and they don't know what they want,” he said.
Consultations can last about five to 20 minutes, he added, allowing time to discuss a client's interests and possible options.
James said he favors results that preserve a person's recognizable features rather than dramatically change their appearance.
“They want to still look like themselves but just more refined, more enhanced, or I guess more refreshed,” he said.
For James, aesthetics brings together his health care background and creative interests. Helping people is important to him, he said, while treatments such as facials and filler also offer an artistic dimension.
“I can still help people out, make them feel good at the same time,” he said.
That combination shapes the atmosphere he hopes to create. He wants clients to feel comfortable asking questions and discussing their concerns without feeling they must know which procedure to choose.
He also hopes to reach more men, saying some may view skin care and aesthetic services as feminine.
“It doesn't really have a gender. It's for everybody,” he said.
The business name has personal roots. James said “James” comes from his own name, while “Saint” reflects his Catholic Christian upbringing. He also wanted a name with a polished, designer-like feel.
California Secretary of State records show the LLC was formed as TeeJ Aesthetics LLC on June 4, 2026, and renamed Saint James Aesthetics and Wellness LLC on July 14.
The practice's website lists facials, chemical peels, microneedling, injectables, and wellness treatments. It is located at 2300 First St., Unit 336, Suite K, in Livermore.
James said he has been local since around 2008 and was drawn to Livermore's community-oriented feel.
He hopes a visit to Saint James can become part of a day downtown, with clients continuing on to local shops, restaurants, or a movie.
“I want to basically make this place feel like home for people here,” he said.
