(SAN RAMON, CA.) - This was a historic day for San Ramon as the pattern was set that City Manager Speaks and the Council follows. There are exceptions we have acknowledged as well. Here is the AI generated Summary of the meeting. Many question the legitimacy of this topic.
In the City Agenda, there was a topic called General Plan Amendment DMU-N being discussed. It had made it through the planning commission meeting, where Planning Commissioner Eric Wallis had questioned the legitimacy of the project, in his own words.
"They are not authorized to do that. They are not eligible. Basically, you are saying any person from San Ramon can come and ask for General Plan amendment on the land they do not own."
The entire sequence of events on this topic was put together by the youth volunteers of our community. They are questioning it while working on it, and participating later. These youths joined to challenge the blatant corruption within our community, which is easily fixable. All we need is someone to question.

Later these same proposal went into becoming a referendum. As City of San Ramon has criminalized the appeal process by setting appeal fees to infinite in comparison of $300 in the neighboring cities.

A post on the following days was posted on NextDoor and here is the engagement in the nextdoor post. This is only for DMU-N.

Later in the same evening, after over 15 people spoke one after another protesting the topic, there was another special item brewing on the agenda. San Ramon council was opening up a discussion late in the night on the limited aspect of budget alone.
The validity of the city's argument that the Zoom meetings were stopped because of fear of getting zoom bombed was questioned, but never was the question raised of why it never showed up on the agenda for discussion. The council also didn't respond when information was demanded as to who voted on the item and the argument behind it.
It was brought to my attention that the decision was made by the city staff, and the council had no say over it. This was a great opportunity to hear how our council reacted.
The entire clip with an overview and a short cut version of this topic is here.

I admire the courage of our elected members to be asking for your vote again, while completely disrespecting any concern ever brought forth by voters.
Every time we have heard about the penalties the state charges but never have we ever heard of any meaningful solution just being told we need to comply without questioning. Our representatives should represent us not dictate us.
Well, unlike others we are fortunate enough to be fooled only once a year on April 1, it's an everyday business.
