(ATLANTA, GA.) - Labor Day weekend is quickly approaching. And there’s no shortage of things to do in Atlanta.

For those who haven’t been to Dragon Con, Labor Day weekend might be a good chance to see what it's all about.
The five-day convention takes place throughout the downtown area and gathers fans of science fiction, fantasy, comics, gaming, movies, literature, art, and much more. Panels, workshops, contests, booths, an art show, and lots of cosplaying participants await attendees.
And no need to be an expert in anything listed above to enjoy walking through the convention. Additionally, the public parade organized by Dragon Con is one of the easiest ways to feel the atmosphere of the convention not being inside it for a whole day.
Good to know: Crowded. If you decide to visit Dragon Con, expect long lines in some places and prepare yourself accordingly.

Atlanta Hip Hop Day Festival
September 5-6 | Historic Fourth Ward Park | FREE
To experience something more Atlanta-specific, visit Atlanta Hip Hop Day Festival.
The two-day festival hosts concerts and Atlanta’s hip hop culture in Historic Fourth Ward Park on Labor Day weekend.
Good to know: It might be an easy event to combine with a trip along the Beltline or visiting something nearby, creating a whole afternoon of entertainment.

Labor Day Weekend Lasershow at Stone Mountain
September 5-7 | Stone Mountain Park | Tickets start at $36.99 for and $39.99 for adults
And if you’re in the mood for outdoor activity, visit Stone Mountain Park and its Labor Day weekend Lasershow.
It’s an opportunity to spend your evening in the park after spending the whole day there. You can make your trip to the park as easy or as complicated as you like – hike in the park, explore it and watch the show at the end of the day.
Good to know: Make sure to check admission and parking policies of the park prior to visit. Some activities within the park require additional payment.
Stone Mountain Park Labor Day weekend information
AIMFest
September 5 | Noon-4 p.m. | AIM Community Center | Free
If you’re in search of something free, AIMFest is an event to visit.
The back-to-school event will take place in the AIM Community Center in southeast Atlanta and will host free food, live entertainment, haircuts, medical services, and various other resources for local families. There is no need to register for the event.
It is not about the show but an opportunity to gather a local community to prepare for the new academic year.
Good to know: The event is free and open to the neighborhood.
High Frequency Friday at the High Museum
September 4 | High Museum of Art | General Admission tickets are $30
And if you’re looking for something quiet, visit the High Museum of Art and its High Frequency Friday.
It is an opportunity to experience the museum during non-working hours with unique art pieces and various programs offered by the museum.
And it might be an opportunity for you to visit something with your friends not having to go to bars or clubs. Admission price is $30.
